4 Home Theater Mistakes To Avoid
Are you in the process of building a home theater, but not quite sure what you are doing? If so, there are some mistakes you can make along the way that you should try to avoid.
Putting Your Speakers In Walls And Cabinets
Many people build a home theater with the idea to hide all of the speakers. They may put them in walls or cabinets so that they can't be seen. This is one way that you can diminish the sound quality coming out of the speakers. The construction of a speaker already puts it inside a box in the ideal way to distribute the sound to a room, and putting a speaker inside another object is going to cause that sound distribution to be disrupted. You will end up with inferior sound quality at the expense of a speaker that you cannot see.
Mounting The TV Too High
You may think it looks good to mount a TV above a fireplace or up high on a wall, but that is not the ideal position that you should be watching a TV. You want the TV to be eye level with the chairs that you are sitting at. You may mount a TV in a place that is aesthetically pleasing, but soon discover that it is uncomfortable to watch TV in your home theater based on its position.
Buying an 8K TV
8K televisions may be the latest and greatest technology out on the market right now, but sometimes it is not best to future proof your purchases. There is very little 8K content out there right now, and the technology is very expensive to purchase. You'll end up overpaying for a television that you will not even be able to fully enjoy. By the time 8K content comes out that you can actually watch, the TVs will be much cheaper. You are better off investing that money on technology that is going to last until your next TV upgrade, such as quality speakers and an audio receiver.
Using Inferior Surge Protection
If you are going to be purchasing a lot of expensive equipment for your home theater, don't plug it all into a basic power strip. You will want to buy a high quality surge protector to ensure that your electronics will be protected in case there is a power surge. Otherwise, a sudden spike in electricity could cause your electronics to become useless.
